Axes management

The ISAC numerical controls are able to manage the positioning axes and the interpolation axes on several interfaces

  • Analogical
  • Pulse/Direction
  • SLM
  • Mechatrolink I and II
  • CANopen
  • EtherCAT

Details about axis managemen
The management of the axes and the spindle (in space) implies that each axes, or spindle, is associated to one channel to control. The spindle can be managed also autonomally through the PLC.

The precision of the movement control is affected by sampling time (TAU expressed in milliseconds) and also by the elaboration speed, that affects also the blocks execution speed of the axes movement program (Part-program or movement recipe)

The interaces with servo motors can also be mixed.
Main rules are:

  • Digital interface with proprietary protocol SLM and Mechatrolink cannot be simultaneously present;
  • CANopen interface is always available (positioning profile DSP-402);
  • Interfaces Analogical + Pulse/direction + Ethercat + an interface with proprietary protocol can be simultaneously present.
